Daily Dose of Happy!

Hey guys! Nothing particularly special to update...just wanted to share a few pictures I took this morning! I couldn't resist! Everybody is doing great up here. We have a busy weekend with a meeting held by Gardner Hall as well as a Breast Cancer Walk in the morning in downtown Harrisburg. Check out our team page for Making Strides Against Cancer here:

Elijah is really keeping us busy these days! He is like a torpedo when he's crawling, and he has just started "cruising" along the furniture in the past week or so. He practically runs laps around our coffee table while holding on. He has also just cut his 4th tooth...bring on the steak, right??!! And, speaking of eating, that is getting much better. He prefers fruit, but I can sneak in a few veggies if I mix them with something sweet! He also still loves those unconventional/hazardous toys...electrical cords, wall outlets, coat hangers, etc.

We are looking forward to some visitors in the coming weeks! Dad and Robert are flying in next weekend and my college roomie, Laura Davis, is coming the following week! How "convenient" that there is an educational conference nearby! :-)

Ok, I'll get to the good stuff now...pictures! These were taken today just after his morning nap. Honestly, he wakes up most morning and after naptime just like this...all smiles! He can sit in his crib and entertain himself for at least 30 minutes (happily!) after he wakes up. His new favorite form of self-entertainment is chasing the mobile overhead. The airplanes were actually Luke's mobile when he was a baby...we'll have to take them down soon before he completely destroys them!

Alright, hope you guys come away with a few smiles from these pictures! Have a great weekend!

Goodbye Summer...Welcome Fall!

Wow, so the 3 MONTHS since my last post just flew by! Elijah will be 8 months old on the 28th, and I can hardly believe it! The heat seems to have faded, and we're enjoying some great Fall weather...cool crisp mornings and sunny, breezy afternoons. Nighttime is perfect for fleece and fires outside....and fixin's for smores! Yum! Here, I'll try to quickly catch you up-to-date on our summer travels with minimal talk and lots of pics! Here we go...

En route to TN for my brother's wedding, we spent the weekend in Johnson City with wonderful friends that we miss! Gramma D was a HUGE help! She flew up to Hershey so I wouldn't have to drive home with Elijah by myself!

We stayed with Vic & Barb (PopPop and Bobbi) in Johnson City

And Elijah got to meet great friends from OT school. Here are Rachel and Jill with a very slobbery Elijah!
Aunt Rachel & Uncle Lance gave Eli his first drum...he LOVES it!
Randomly, my good friend, Jonesy, was passing through JC that weekend, and we met up for breakfast on Sunday before worship.

Wedding #1 My Brother & Erica! It was perfect in every way!

Yes, that is an awesome tuxedo onesie that his Aunt Hilly found. And, yes, he did wear it for the entire wedding, professional family pictures, and the reception. What a stud!
Please note, Elijah is cracking up!
What a wonderful way to end the celebration...on the back of an antique firetruck!

We traveled to Memphis after Wedding #1 for some time with family before heading to Lexington, KY for Wedding #2. Naomi loves her cousin Elijah, and the feelings are mutual!

Once in Lexington we were able to squeeze in a visit and dinner with great friends, the Fraleys. Kathy and my Mom were sorority friends at Samford, and they reconnected once we realized that Dr. Fraley was my Chemistry professor at Georgetown...small world! It was so nice to see them!

Wedding # 2 Monica & Walt

Laura, Monica, Kari & myself....good ole Gtown friends!

Elijah seeing Aunt Laura again!
Yes, Monica's reception was at a CASTLE! Amazing!
My Dad and Vicki came up from AL for the wedding...Monica may as well be their second daughter!

Finally, back home in Hershey after lots of miles on the interstate!

Hanging out with my buddy, Liam!

Cheering on the Vols in this awesome outfit I found for $3 on consignment!

Playing outside in our makeshift "pool"....a plastic drawer!
Working on eating solids...he's not a fan. Usually I end up making him laugh and then shoveling in a spoonful!

At the Butterfly House in the Hershey Gardens! Very cool!

Enjoying the Fall weather and the feel of grass!

One. Enormous. Update. (It's been a while!)

Wow! It's been way too long! I apologize to all 2 of you who look forward to seeing/hearing what we've been up to! I'll keep it short and sweet since there are so many pics!

May 1st (aka the weekend of the Nashville floods) my brother, Robert, proposed to Erica in my grand-dad's backyard! I flew home to surprise them and join in the celebration!

While in town, my college roommate, Shelley, and her little girl came to visit! So wonderful to see them!

Also, during that first trip home, we took a side trip down to San Antonio to celebrate Aunt Lydia's graduation from dental hygiene school! Elijah met his cousins, aunts and uncles on this trip!

We also got to meet our good friends, the Lankfords, at a local park in San Antonio while we were there! It was wonderful to see them and meet their precious kiddos!

Elijah slept through the Alamo!

A few days after we returned to PA, our family from Indiana came to visit for Memorial Day weekend! Bradley, Luke's cousin, and his wife, Micah, and their 3 adorable girls came to visit along with Bradley's mom and dad. We had a great time with them here!

Kate helping drive the Amish buggy...a great tour!
Aboard the buggy...Eli's first Amish experience! :-)

Now, back at home in TN to celebrate my step-dad's 60th birthday! Luke had a long weekend free and was able to join us!
Elijah meets his cousin Nora who was born in December.

Robert, Erica and our good buddy Stephen

Mary made these awesome shirts for Nora and Eli to wear to the party!

After the birthday celebrations, we put Luke on a plane back to PA, and Elijah and I headed south to AL to my Dad's place on the lake near Auburn! My college girlfriends and I always try to get together once a summer at Lake Martin. This year we were celebrating Elijah's arrival as well as Monica's upcoming nuptials! Laura D made us these great shirts for the occasion!

They match!Getting kisses from Hershey

Most of the Scott family in to meet Elijah!
Tripp and Eli on the floor...Eli loved watching him!

He really did love the water...despite what this look suggests!
Driving the boat with Papa Ra Ra

That's it! That basically catches you up-to-speed on all that's been happening in our lives! We'll try to do better and post before another 2 months goes by!
