"Stay-cation" and New Family!

Hey there folks! It's been a great, busy week here in Hershey! Luke had this week set aside for vacation, and we were excited to finally get to San Antonio to see Lydia and Justin...and perhaps even sneak in a visit with the Lankford clan in Burnet. Well, those plans were made pre-Elijah so we quickly had to change them! Lydia didn't need us there to distract her anyway! She's taking her dental hygiene boards soon, and a 6 week old nephew + sunny and 70 degree weather = no studying! :-) So, we've had a "stay-cation" here at home, and it's been great! We started the home study process, and hope to get that done as quickly as possible! We had home-made pizza with the Miozza's from church, and were so thankful they shared their time with Kathryn and Micah during their quick trip home on spring break!

The most exciting event of the week, however, was meeting our new family...the Coopers! We are so fortunate to know that Eli has a half brother and sister (M & M) who were adopted into the same family and live only 20 minutes away! We have only spoken via phone and email up until this week when they welcomed us into their home with open arms! We are so blessed to know that these siblings will be able to know one another and have a relationship as they get older! It was so neat to see the 3 of them together (all about 17 months apart), and to see the similar traits and characteristics they share. The Coopers also have a child of their own (S) who is just a few months older than Eli! What fun the 4 of them will have together!

Now, just a few of our favorite pictures from the past week or so...bath time, "feaux-hawk", and proof that Cliff and Claire are still alive and well! :-) We're looking forward to having several visitors coming in this weekend and staying until next weekend! Laura and JD come in tomorrow and Robert and Erica will join us on Monday morning! We will have lots of new pictures to share after their visit! Here are a few to hold you until then! Have a great weekend!

  1. That is amazing, Shannon! So cool that you get to know them and live close to them for a little while. Something tells me you'll always stay in touch ;). I can definitely see resemblances! What a beautiful family.

  3. Oh my goodness. Is that Elijah's half-sister? Can we say FUTURE SUPER MODEL? She's absolutely gorgeous! And I love the B&W pic of Eli in the bath, he looks like he's posing, haha. The more pictures I see the more crazy I get for a visit. And Cliff! What can I say? That photo should be entered in a contest. Sorry- I think I just broke a record for longest comment ever.
