Rock Stars, Super Heroes, and Everything In Between

Well, I am playing another game of catch-up here on the blog!  Life has been busy, and December will be here before ya know it! We are so thrilled and thankful to know that Luke passed his orals that he took last month in San Diego! Whew! Not that I ever doubted, but I know he feels like a load is lifted!  So thankful for an intelligent, hard-working, humble husband!

Life is good here in Memphis! Miles continues to be a challenge, but at least we have his molars (all 4 of them) to blame at the moment!  And, the biggest bit of his news is that we have been given an adoption date...next Wednesday, November 14th! Yayyyy!!! We are so excited to be heading back up to PA this weekend to spend as much time possible visiting and seeing friends! So, we leave this Saturday, get home the following Saturday, Thanksgiving is the weekend after that, and then HELLO December! Crazy! I told you, November is already spent!

Anyway, here's some catching up from Halloween and the past week or so!

This year we managed to throw together a pretty good crew of rock stars & super heroes!
Clark Kent, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis & Wonder Woman...ALL SMILING AT ONCE!
(this might end up on our Christmas card!)

I will say, I was most proud of my little home-made Elvis getup!

Did anyone else know that this was his logo AND the name of one of his planes?
Thank you, Graceland, for your educational yet pricey tour!
Taking Care of Business!

Elvis has left the...party...

Last day for shorts weather...bring on the jeans and hoodies!

E helping me refinish Luke's old bed (so Elijah can finally take his twin mattress off the floor!) And, while I'm at it, the boys are officially sharing a room! I put up the big crib last week, and things are going really well!  Unfortunately, Daylight Savings had to mess things up a bit, but we're getting back into the groove!

dirt, climbing trees, riding bikes...these guys are all boy!

my Mer-man rinsing off his mohawk

he looks so polite with his legs all crossed and lookin' cute...don't let that angelic face fool you!

 a cardigan and a bow tie...such prepsters

i kinda love this kiddo just a little ;)

"See, anything can be eaten with enough ranch!"

Costco, Granma D & some of her sugar cookies...can life get better??!!

Miles' 15mo checkup last week...down 3 pounds but up 3 inches!
Pork chop may end up a pork loin!

Last weekend, Luke and I went away for two nights for the first time since Miles joined us.  We went to a marriage retreat hosted by some awesome folks (shout-out Bains & Shumakes!) outside of Nashville!  It was incredibly encouraging and challenging (in a great way), and we were so thankful to be a part of the great group of folks who participated!  Also, thankful to Luke's folks to take on two rowdy boys for the weekend!

This plate was given as a gift when Elijah joined our family (from Vivan Penuel!), and we saved it for his adoption day which was truly one of the greatest days ever!  The judge and attorney (and his team) made it so special, and we were honored to share that day with so many of our greatest friends and family!  So, in preparation for Miles' adoption hearing next week I tried to find a similar plate with no avail.

But, I found a paint-your-own pottery place nearby and I decided to attempt to make one myself! So, here's the (un)finished product! It will be fired and glazed and ready for pick-up on Friday! Looking forward to another plate full of signatures next Wednesday!!!

What life with Miles has looked like lately (be glad I didn't include the sound effects).  I am going to blame it on teething since he's bumped it up a notch.  Seriously, this happens at every meal, or any time he sees food, or any time he doesn't like what he is given, or wants what you have, or...all the time...

This, too, shall pass!

Today we came home from playgroup, and Miles literally made it into the house and fell asleep on the hardwood floor.  No, seriously, this happened.  Luke and I were laughing so hard!

Oh, child, it's a good thing you're so dang cute!  Side note, we are seeing Caroline next week while in Hershey!!! Caroline is my favorite hair dresser, and she loves to love on the boys!  We should all come back home with tame hair!

That is all for now, but I assure you there will be LOTS of pics from the upcoming week in PA and the adoption festivities! Thanks so much to all of you who have been faithful to keep this process in your thoughts and prayers! What a blessing! Hope you all have a great rest of your week!
