Kicking off the New Year (January Part 1)

As you know, I am slowly making my way through January (yes, I know, it's almost March!). I will not let myself get out of chronological order! January was BUSY BUSY with overnight visitors and weekend guests, but that's what we love!  So, January's reviews may come in a few
installments (hence, "Part 1").

Here are the boys acting silly with their good buddy, Cooper!  My boys have really been having fun playing dress-up (usually in my shoes...see later pics) so I've been encouraging a few, let's say, more masculine wardrobe pieces!  These are some old ties that I have slowly collected over the years...Steph was pretty sure that Logan would not appreciate Cooper wearing the UT neckwear so we gave that one to Elijah! Who needs pants when you have neckties!?!?

There were a LOT of highlights in the month of January, and one of them was seeing Brian Regan in concert at the Orpheum!  Who is Brian Regan? Well, if you don't know, you must immediately find him on YouTube! He is a hilarious & clean comedian, and we have now seen him 5 (groupies??!!) times...shout out to my old OT friend, Sara, for introducing us to his hilarity back in 2005!

Luke's sis and brother-in-law, Jess & Jeremy, told us he was coming to Memphis so we bought tickets right away, and then the Brad, Micah and Grant wanted to come (all the way from Indianapolis area!) with us! It was hysterical, and I can't wait for all of his new stuff to come out on DVD.

Here we all are ready for a night of ab work...seriously, I hurt afterward from all the laughing!

The Orpheum! First time there, and it's gorgeous!

The next morning we had the whole fam over for a nice, big bfast before everyone had to head home! Here, Granma D patiently let's the boys help with the cooking!

I guess we were just in the mood for humor because after breakfast we decided to watch a few other comedians on You Tube.  I love the faces below! Brad & Micah introduced us to Jim Gaffigan's (also hilarious) routine on "Home Birth"...it.is.so.funny!!  If you haven't seen it, you need to check it out...

Uno Attack...always fun

Our niece, Naomi...what a growing girl!

Having fun experimenting with the new camera after the ice came through town

We have a lovely woman at church, Martha Molnar, who is such an encouragement!  Despite the aches and pains that come along with age, she continues to drive (40+) minutes to church by herself when she can get out, and she continues to show hospitality by having people in her home.  She (bravely) invited us to her antique-filled home for lunch, and what a treat it was! She has a bird, Peach, that Elijah was especially fond of...until she nibbled on his finger! Still, he was intrigued and talks about that day quite often!

Ah, yes, back to the dress-up stuff.  Both of my boys always seem to love putting on my shoes! Either the pink flats (shown here) or the red heels seems to be their favorites...cracks me up!  I think they just like the noise they make when they clomp around on the hardwood floor!  Couldn't resist a couple of pics...I'm sure these will resurface someday (future girlfriends? graduation? wedding?)!

Nothing screams "boy" like plaid flannel and hot pink flats!

And, just a few everyday shots.  Nothing more common than a drainage ditch along the gutter, but these boys sat and played here for about 30 minutes.  They loved dropping things in and hearing their voices echo...ah, the simple things!  I'm so thankful for these two, curious, imaginative minds!

Well, that got us through the first 12 or so days of January! I'll try to get Part 2 up and going here soon! I hope you all are doing well!!
