Home, Healthy, Happy & Haircuts

So happy to be home with healthy boys! It's been a gorgeous week with cooler temps, and we've tried to take advantage of the weather because it's gonna be a hot weekend! Without further adieu...

I know I have mentioned that we are doing a CSA, but I just can't tell you how much we LOVE it! In fact, today is pick-up for another bundle of delicious, fresh, organic goodies!  Also, we pick up at the Collierville Farmer's Market which is now up-and-running, and we always find other yummy treats!

Isn't that squash cool?? Looks like it was dyed.

I am REALLY hoping this video plays (since the last one I tried didn't and I have no idea why!).  Miles is crawling at the speed of light, and starting to pull up on everything.  He's also climbed an entire set of stairs (supervised, of course!).  This is our first look at his dance skills...check out Elijah at the beginning, too, it's hilarious! I hope they have natural rhythm otherwise there is no hope for these boys!

crawling all over our favorite playground

Elijah's new thing is climbing everything! So, for those of you who go to playgrounds with your kiddos (or just know what I'm talking about), I've always hated the openings at the top with ladders/corkscrews to climb up and down.  For me, I envision the boys walking right off the edge to their certain death.  However, E has now become obsessed with tackling these, and he's doing a great job!  We practiced for a long time while I held on to his shorts until he turned to me and said, "No hold me. I do it!"  So big. And, so proud of himself...

Luke really does love Claire...don't let him tell you otherwise

We love the Memphis Zoo and love that we bought season passes!  Tuesday was a perfect day to go for a few hours! We managed to hit up a ton of "feeding times" which is always exciting!

We've seen the polar bear out and about just a few times, but this day
he was really active and eating...fish and an entire cantaloupe!

brotherly love!

the grizzlies were also eating and swimming!

success! both asleep before we made it to the car!

After the boys woke up from their nap I decided it was hair cut time! As much as I LOVE their curls, it's just getting too hot to keep it long...especially Miles' hair!  This is the pile I snipped just from Miles alone! And, no, I wasn't sentimental about it...threw it over the fence for some bird to build an awesome nest! It's the 4th time I've cut it already!

New do!  Thank goodness the curls are forgiving to my poor craftsmanship!

There are 2 sprinkler parks in Collierville, and they are now open (and free!) for business! Our Wednesday playgroup decided to meet there this week, and I was pumped about how much the boys would love it.  Turns out, this is about as close as they would get!  The water was freezing!  I think in a few weeks when we reach 90 degrees they may change their minds!

And, finally, I couldn't pass up this outfit at Costco yesterday! In light of last week's adventure to TX, I found this quite hilarious! And, no, this 24 MONTH ensemble isn't for our 2 year old but our (almost) 10 month old!  Miles, you are a big boy!

Alrighty, well folks, enjoy your long weekend! Luke works all weekend (including Monday) so we're off to Springfield to visit my step-dad (Papa Coy)! Robert & Erica are also coming up from Bham so we'll get to see them and meet their new pup, too! Happy Memorial Day weekend!

  1. So fun, Shan!! Just wish we were there to get in on the excitement! When you have little ones, passes are the only way to do zoos/museums. Otherwise you feel guilty to go and stay 2 hours! Have a safe trip and a great time visiting your family! Love and miss you all!
